Dr. Sean McCoy joined the International Energy Agency in 2011, where he is an Energy Analyst, Legal and Regulatory Issues in the CCS Unit. Previously, Dr. McCoy was a Research Engineer at Carnegie Mellon University and managed the CCS Regulatory Project (CCSReg), a multi-disciplinary project that identified legal and regulatory obstacles to large-scale use of CCS in the U.S. and developed recommendations to overcome these obstacles. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.A.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
