Mineralization, Risk Assessment, Chemical Engineering
Dr. Anjana Meel is a Scientist at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) where she is working on carbon capture by carbonate mineralization. She holds M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees both in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Anjana's thesis work focused on dynamic risk assessment of inherently safe chemical processes using Bayesian Theory. She obtained Bachelor and Masters of Technology degrees in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, specializing in Process System Design and Engineering. Before moving to UCSB, she worked at The Dow Chemical Company (formerly Rohm and Haas Company) for couple of years in various functions and business units, including research, process development, manufacturing, and supply chain.
